Just a shade or two on the dull side but otherwise a pretty good shot. Your photo is well composed, sharp, with reasonable exposure. I have enjoyed looking at it and reviewing it. Fine shot, well done.

We have the same problem with the Mockingbird while we are in Arizona. The background looks very busy and I also think you need to crop it a little so that bird is a little larger. Thanks for the information. What is it?

Thanks Bob, it is a Rainbow Lorikeet. They are a beautiful bird but oh so noisy.

Well camouflaged bird hidden in the leaves. Sounds like you don't need an alarm clock. Shame his tail is missing

Thanks Beansy, no we definitely don't need the alarm at the moment.

Rainbow lorikeets are always a great subject. I have been subjected to the noise of 30 or more, but never 200 which would require hearing protection. You are a brave woman. I like your composition, although I think you could have centred your bird a little more. The colours are early morning subtle, particularly the leaves and blossoms. Nice crisp focus and DOF, well done. The Kookaburras wake me up in Autumn/Winter and those bloody awful birds that visit from Indonesia, Coells/Koells(?) do so in
Spring/Summer. I prefer the locals.
Well done.

Thanks Terry, there probably aren't 200 just sounds like that more like about 50 of the very noisy birds in a very small gum tree. Haven't seen the one's from Indonesia, but we do get the occassional Kookaburra. :) Mary

Well, they do chat a lot and everyone wants to talk at once. They are very social and intelligent birds. They arrived in Sydney about 25 years ago, even in the middle of the CBD en masse. They are also not intimidated by other birds when it comes to territory. If the Indonesians turn up, their morning cry ( more like a howl) usually commences at around 4.30am. WE have had the same visitor now for 5-6 years....the only time I wished, from time to time, I had a shotgun. Nice talking to you, there are only a few Aussies on this site.

I am not a seasoned art reviewer and can only go on personal appeal. I do like the colours in the photo - but find it very busy with all that foliage - for me I would have liked to have seen the bird positioned more to the viewer's left of the screen as the bird is looking towards the right, possibly even cropping it down so that the bird hugs the left hand frame.

Thanks for your suggestions, much appreciated.

Well focused and containing some really nice colours and textures. My main issue is that the birds tail has been cut off, and I would also like to see more of the bird, not the tree. Thanks for sharing it.
