Excellent shot of a ladybird. I love how it's looking straight at you and you managed to get really close and get the head really sharp. Your editing workd is great too.

That's quite alright. If I see a pic I find something I really like I look what else that photographer's done, I find that more interesting than sifting through images of the day. And why not tell them that I like their work? :)

well good close-up,and looks a bit scary in this,very small dof in this,which makes the most of the subjects face,good crop,and a very funny description,glad you did not step on it,not overkeen on wide frames,but the colour does blend in with the photo,so does not distract from it,good luck in the contest...brian

i would have screamed, too! i'm glad you didn't step on the spider. anyway, i'm happy to see miss ladybug. who doesn't love a ladybug? i love the angle and especially love the background - the focus is on the lady and her colors are not competing with any other colors. like the framing effect, too. excellent detail - especially in her little "mustache."

yw. vicious? no way! i took a walk the other day and one flew right into my face. any other insect i would have screamed, but since it was a ladybug, i gently put her on the ground. no scream.

I like this, the softness in the back of the lady bug and the clarity about the head works well. The warmth of the colour contrasted against the grey of the background is wonderful. The frame is unusual for you, I think, but it works so well here to limit the eye. Good luck in the contest my friend. Cyn

Wonderful close up of such a tiny creature.

Detail is magnificent.
I could almost bet he's sweating bullets that your going to push him off his leaf if you come any closer ;)

I notice a slight softness but I think it only accentuates his head that much more. Didn't know they had a five O'clock shadow.

I thank you for such a wonderful picture. I appreciate you saving me the nervousness of it jumping on me too.

Nice tight macro with some great details. Sharp focus, good choice of DOFF, and very nice color control. Frame not so much but that is artists choice. Well composed and presented.

The image is perfect. I think the focus is excellent. I love how you have captured the ladybug from this perspective I can see the fine hairs at its mouth. Colour is beautiful. There is a softness the further back you look but it has great depth to it.
