Six stars (exceptional: simply outstanding)
five stars (excellent: enjoyable and no revisions needed)
four stars (good: adjustments needed)
three stars(below average)
two stars (below average: needs lots of work)
one star (poor: major revisions needed)
Anything less than a five would require an explanation to what you think is wrong and possible what to do to fix it. It is a good thing to do as it teaches folks what to look for and it is also good for the reviewer as it is a self teaching tool.
If however you think the rating is not what you intended you can bring up the picture again and change the review.

Excellent shot well positioned in the frame. Focus is pin sharp, details are crisp and clear. Your colors jump out of the frame and the background is perfect to show off the main subject. A very well composed piece.

oh i know i have seen this mug before with his beak in the cookie jar so to speak...lol. still a cute capture. the clarity is good. the angle of the shot is good. the cropping is good. overall good job.

Excellent shot of this guy! You've left enough leading space to the left by placing him on the right third so that we can follow his look. I like the seed in the mouth, reinforce your description well! Good details in the feathers. The only thing that I would say is to maybe lighten him up a bit more so you can see all better details in the black. Good luck in the contest! :) Joan
