A Fairy garden

I think this is very creative. I like the way you turned a yellow thistle into blue fantasy flowers. The overlapping effect looks very dreamy. I like the way the stamens glow in a lighter blue. It makes them look magical.
Your fairy is very well done. I cannot see the butterflies in her hand very well. I think if you put a sparkling thing in her hand and added a few sparkles flying around the flowers, it would look like she was blowing fairy dust around the flowers.
I hope you don't mind my suggestions but that is what I think of when I look at this work. It is quite inspiring. I might try a fairy in a garden too, one day. ;-)
Well done.

Thank you very much, Your approval of my work means a lot to me. I know, the butterflies are to small for the FAR presentation. The original picture is 45" x 34" [115 cm x 86 cm]. The fairy dust is a perfect idea with one problem. I have published a pictures were a fairy is blowing dust already.

As far as I'm concerned, you win. This is a great photo done in different tones of blue. I love what you did to the figure in the middle. Good luck in the contest!

Very creative and eye catching. Love the composition and the initial impact. Of course, the color contrast is lovely. The way she is placed gives good dimension.

Interesting concept. Nice colors and lighting. The composition would have more impact with the fairy better placed in the image, and symmetrical shape cut in half by the left edge of the image creates a chopped-off feeling.

Thank you very much for your review and your input, Where would you put the fairy? I did not put any geometrical shapes in the picture do you mean a flower? They three on the left, all cut of.
reply by EJEspo on 29-May-2012
Sorry for not being clear. Yes, I was referring the the flower in the upper left that is chopped half out of the frame. I don't want to suggest where to place the fairy. It's not my image to create. I am just suggesting that the image would have more artistic appeal if the fairy wasn't placed in the center.

I was just asking, because the different impressions of the different reviewer are interesting to me. I have about ten versions of the picture with the fairy in different positions. This one felt right to me for the contest.

Placing the fairy one third of the way to the right will give it more of an artistic feel. Centering a subject when it's not filling the frame makes it look more like a common snapshot.

This is just lovely! So many shades and tones of pretty blues - it's perfect for the contest. I love your editing of the thistle heads in particular.

Thank you very much. Sorry if I was confusing. The whole did not start out as an painting. Only the fairy was a painting; I exchanged with some filters. She was as the last layer to the picture. I exchanged the photo of a thistle to the flower garden. The fairy was the last to be added.
