Well shot! His character shows, hard to manage in a bird picture! Light and focus perfect. That touch of colour in the background is wonderful.

Cracking Photo. This is pin sharp, and it shows this bird for who he is. The colours are spot on too and it's plumage is really clear. There is nothing in the background to lead the eye away from the subject. All in all great picture. Roy

the bokeh is exceptional. I was going to say the eyes could have used some brightening to bring out some detail, but then I noticed the catch-light off the eye.

Thanks! From what I gathered you see nothing wrong. Four stars means good but adjustments needed. What do you see thant needs adjustments?

This is a fantastic close up photo of a Blue Jay. It seems like it is looking straight at you and it has a sort of curious expression in its face. The background is nicely blurred and I don't mind the colors either, but I would have tried to tone down the yellow a bit. It steels a bit of attention from the bird.

Your focus is pin sharp showing very fine details in the feathers, and you have captured the bright and shiny eye real well. The exposure is very good and I like how the light is falling on the bird's eye. The colors are nice and natural.

I also think the placement of the head within the frame works well together with the tight cropping. This is an excellent shot and I wish you luck with the contest.

Thank you so very much! I have had some say the yellow compliments the blue.

Yes it does, but could be just a bit less shiny. But of course this is just my own subjective opinion.

Great close up with a strong focus and sharpness. Depth of field is pleasing to the eye and the angle this was shot on is also very strong. Nicely done!

All I can say with this one is, wow.
Amazing detail captured here. The reflection in the eye, the detail of the feathers is great.
I do find the orange color in the background a bit distracting but over all this is a great shot.
Nicely done!

Nice Capture! I like the close head shot of this Blue-jay I think the overall image could be lighten one or two steps, giving greater emphasis to the birds facial features.
