This is a beautiful capture. The natural colors and the crisp details are outstanding. I especially admire the capture of the eye. The DOF is perfect as is the framing. Best lick for the contest.

Fantastic close up and clarity of a bird who almost NEVER sits still..you must have a great mm lens or a 36x zoom like one of my Nikon's ..In any case, great capture....could be a winner in the contest..good luck and God Bless

Wonderful capture.

Full of details :)

Can sense the feather texture on this bird.

Wonderful bright eye.

Cropping is great.
Lighting is great.

Background is muted as not to interfere with center stage.

The colors are a compliment to this bird.

Thanks for sharing such a great photo.

Best wishes :D

Very good focus and sharpness. I like the contrast of the jay with the blurred background and the nice tones of grey and black. Nice reflect in the eye. Good shot

Very good image

EXCEPTIONAL focus, exposure, composition, DOF, everything...

I love how there is a glint in the Blue Jay's eye...the sheen on it's beak.

Very nice

When I clicked on the image to bring it up large - it jumped out of the screen almost in 3D proportions. What fantastic clarity. A really stunning photograph. Thank you so much for sharing.

A great shot! I love the composition and how he is captured slightly off-centre. The clarity of the feathers, markings and that eye are wonderful. Cropping is a great job and as a result use of space is well done my friend. Cyn

Super composition in that it fills the frame with the subject and leaves something yellow (a contrasting color to the blue) in the background. Focus is close to perfection, as is the exposure. BTW, Bluejays may be pretty, but they are MEAN, especially with the little hummingbirds and finches around my house. They also eat my figs...dang birds. Excellent photo
