This one doesn't work for me. I have to give you credit for trying something outside your box. If at first you don't succeed, try again. That's what I tell myself. If you don't try, you'll never know. Good try. Sam

The idea of blurring the image to send the message of a nation fading away is a nice idea but I personally prefer your pastel work without any blurring.
I think you ruined it by blurring it. I think the idea might have worked better if you had kept some of it clear, a bit like in photography where the center of focus is clear and the rest is blurred. It would be nice to at least see the main facial features clear in my opinion but that is just one very subjective opinion. I took off half a star because in my opinion it is not as good as your other five star works.

Ok, that is enough experimenting for you. Like the concept but not fond of the result. Like the name! Looks like lipstick all over his face. Please don't hate me.

Sorry, to be honest, I am not sure either. I think the blur just dos not give the impression of fading away. Maybe it would work to play a little more with the original. Maybe give it transparency of different degree and layer it on something what resembles hide in texture. Perhaps a digital canvas or paper or something else you make up yourself.

Your creativity and the concept are great and I see the effect you were going for. Would a selective blur work better do you think - keeping the inner most parts clear?. It's good to be experimenting in Photoshop though and I really like the soft, muted colour palette.

Yea, they disappeared into casinos and Grand Canyon sky walks. Me and my mates, so now I am starting to talk like I am British, I can think of worst things. Anywho, I had a discussion on the plight of the Native Americans and one friend said how the Americans were brutal to them. Yea, I said but there were Indians in Canada and in Mexico, what happened to them, did the Americans kill off all the Indians here then took the show on the road and decided to kill all the Indians in Canada and Mexico.

In Mexico the Mian race was almost completely wiped out, there are only 3500 known to exist today. The wild thing was they were not allowed to speak their native language until 20 years ago.

We all had our hands in a massacre at one point or another

yes Tony im really aware that its so easy for me and maybe us brits in general to have a romanisided view of your history and the fate of the native Americans and our wealth gained from the slave and opium trades dosnt bare much looking into and as you say what the spanish did in central america dosnt bare thinking about either , thanks of course for the five ,mark not really sure it desrves it

reply by Tony B on 08-Jul-2012
It was a way of life back then, not that I am justifying things and what happened, today we are supposed to know better, and so we learn from history, no harm in that, absolutely no harm is all our roots. Love your work brother. I think at this point you could lay paint down on a canvas and spread it around with your butt I still would think itâ??s a master piece.

really sorry david but it doesnt work for me at all, i think you,ve rendered it well but cant tell for sure, but i think maybe if you kept the focus on it & faded the edges like a vignette effect that would give the impression your after without detracting from enjoyment of your work all the best!
