This is a beautiful photo with great colors and nice lighting. I'm a bit confused about the contest entry though.

The contest was about people and animals and how they interact. This bird seems to be trying to connect with me.

Lots of blue for sure, what a beautiful bird. We don't have blue jays here, but we have a Rocky Mountain Blue bird with the same blue, but much smaller. Wonderful visitor! Thanks for sharing!

This is a wonderful shot of your 'guest' you have so nicely captured! Your photograph has good details and is focused well. Light condition and color ambiance are well balanced. Well composed photograph. In the dark blurred backdrop the bird stands out well. Well done. Murad

Thanks murad for your thoughtful review. These birds can actually stay still long enough for me to get a photo!!

Nice shot!
I love to see these birds. I have them around my home too. I especially like to watch them dive bomb the cats. The bird is over exposed especially the head. You can use the dodge tool to help that. Good luck!

They also dive bomb the squirrels who compete for food and the squirrels completely ignore them!! Thanks for the review and suggestions.

Great concept with bluish bird on bluish plate. The look away from the camera gives the imlpression of "what i do wrong?"

Thanks for the review, dalmdad. It was mostly coincidence that I have a blue table on my deck but it worked out!!

Very nice shot of the blue jay. We get them where I live but I'm thinking a larger type, as I see you say its a extended family. Does this guy not have the crown. Love the blue plate to match this guy and of course the sun flower seeds. Your picture is nice and bright and I like it, good job.

Thanks for commenting KooLady! I think these are juveniles--boys and girls--I think this is a girl, she's so polite, compared to her raucous brothers!!

Thanks so much for your review. It only took about 30 shots to get the right one, definitely worth it!!
