your too kind but you do me loads of good thanks sandy your the star
What an excellent attempt! It's not only inked; but an inked macro. I think it is just perfect. Amazing how you got the texture of the wood, an the rust on the hinge. Old buildings., especially in decay, are always interesting, they seem even more interesting when inked and soft penciled in a close up. Its an perfect entry. Best look!

This is an excellent representation, especially for its interesting, subject point of view and strong color harmonies. Very well done and thank you for sharing.--Dr. Carlton

well thank you so very much im really pleased that you liked it
This is really good, I thought it was a photo, I like how you used the colors, your shading and the ability to make the hinge look like rust is just amazing! I like the wood, it looks to be wheather beaten and bleached a bit by the sun, you really did an outstanding job! I wish you well in the contest!

oh well thank you very much , and kind regards david
I like seeing metal against the wood..the strong material of the hinge next to the weakened wood. The difference in textures and also how clear it is that the hinge isn't going to keep this wall together.
nice colors of the greys and blacks against the rust.
Like how you've defined the hinge with careful lines, shadings and color.
Like your rendering of weathered wood, it's lines, it's breaks, a nail sticking out.
Like where the hinge is placed.
LIke how close we are to the scene.
nice work David.

you always give such great in depth reviews Phyllis thank you so much , quite a change for me this , but ive got to say I really enjoyed doing it
Your work never ceases to amaze me, when this came through the thumb nail I thought it was a photograph by you. Now that I see it up close it is an incredible attention to detail, from the weather cracking sun faded wood, to the rusty, weathered hinge. I like the two nails on the left side, really cool. Is that a hint of green above the hinge to represent moisture, wow, good stuff david, I want to see more.
