Had to show this one to my wife and daughter, they are huge volleyball fans! really nice job the body flows and you have captured human movement perfectly.

Grate job. I love the way you went about doing this. Yes she is right I believe it helps doing it in pencil to show movement and muscle tone. Grate job.

You've really nailed this piece. I am glad the ball and net aren't visible. it gives her strength alone in this piece. Nice form and grace.

    "uberathletes" ? Have not seen that word. Did mean "superathletes"? Neat description: "like carved out of granite" I tend to be a non athlete mother even tho my children are grown! I was definitely not carved out of granite! lol

    Yep I think "Uber" is the German word for super, so thats what I meant.
    I'm also a non athletic mom...though I used to compete and stay fit... Now it's more like: Turn on the olympics, have a cold brew and 'remember when' ;-)

    I am always so interested in words, so that is neat to know. Nothing wrong with "turn on olympics, have a cold brew, and remember when"! I can sure related to that, tho I was never competitive or skillful at sports. They always picked me last when teams were chosen! lol

This is a fantastic portrait of a toned athlete in mid-game. A great action image and very well drawn. I've been glued to the ladies beach volleyball in the Olympics - I never knew it was so exciting and as you say, they are in such amazing shape.

Nice piece of art, the shading is great and this gives a gtreat sense of movement. Background is not complicated and certainly gives a feel of depth. well done.
