    actually, my dad was taken prisoner three times, he was in the Ukrainian Free - first the Russians captured him and then sent him out to fight again, then the Germans captured him and in the last few months told all the prisoners, either they don a uniform or they are shot on the spot. They had to walk from the Ukraine to Italy and were given sticks to fight with.. In America, life is about choice, it is not quite the same for some of us- you try to make the best of what you have!

Very interesting life you have lead! Of course full of trials and tribulations. It should be an eye opening lesson for the younger generation to see the sacrifices made by the older generations to make this world a better place to live. Thanks for sharing!

    dad was taken Prisoner three times, he started with the Ukrainian Free, was taken prisoner by the russians, then set to fight - then taken prisoner by the Germans, in the last few months also set to fight or be shot, they had to walk across Europe to Italy, there they were taken prisoner by the English- to become their pay office and brought to England.
