Thanks so much for the explanation. I just looked at the picture and thought he was dead! You really got a good shot of him. I am so glad he is alive and scratching himself. Sometimes the word "scratch", means to "scratch something off."

This is just too cute. Excellent and lucky catch. Excellent clarity and I really like the green leaf to set off this little bird. Thanks for sharing and good luck in your contest. Rebecca

I wish I had 100 stars!! How the heck did you manage to capture this incredible shot?? The storytelling is beyond excellent (if that's possible). Of cours it's composed well with very good focus, but come on, can anything get much cuter than this? I think not. I love it.

I do like this cute bird. You did catch it at the right time as I have never seen something like this too. You got so close and it is clear and very cute! Excellent photo!

So great that you were able to capture this interesting photographic shot. The detail of the nest in intriquing, as well as the birdie itself - nice job.

Hi Willie,

I LOVE this unusual shot of a baby hummer in the nest!
Not only is the shot VERY interesting but has wonderful
humor too! You have the perfect lighting and DOF on this, but what makes it really special is the view! LOL Good to know the baby hummer was about to leave the nest. Looks like he's outgrown it. Love that foot in the air! LOL

Very,Very, Cool My Friend! Just had to give this a six!

oh my gosh! you definitely were in the right place at the right time with the right settings and the right lens. I have to think that this is 1 of the most special moments that you have ever had the opportunity to photograph, and I thank you for sharing that with us. I think the nest strutcture is so very interesting your focus on it is nice but you definitely have, nailed the bird itself I don't think you could have had a sharper focus on the eye and the big section of the head, just wicked. I love you toos the green is the leave behind definitely adds a great backdrop to percent in to the max. not sure how high the nest is but definitely I love the point of view you manage to capture him at as well. well framed and presented, awesome job overall wish it would have been me, lol. hope you have a great evening

I was sitting in the seat of my ATV with my elbows on the stering wheel bracing my camera and watching him through the lens. i did have a ladder but i was waiting for the parent bird to feed them. I got that shot too. If you are interested i have more hummers in the nest on my portfolio in a book colection called humming birds.
