Hi Shawn...sure, I give you a little slack and you grab all the goodies. Congratulations on you win. This is beautifully unusual, perhaps a touch strange...both in a good way. I think the expression is solemn and possibly wanting. I hope this rambling makes sense. Technically, it is well done. Creatively, it is quite elegant. I find the contrast of the whitish face against the rich red to to be an visual treat. Keep it going girl. You seem to reach new heights with each new painting. Oh crap, just realized I only get 2 cents for this review. (Of course I am only kidding.) Russ Cleversley

Well, speak of the devil, LOL. I was just going to email you to see how you faired the storm. You were kidding about the 2 cents--I actually got 1.00+ for a review the other day. It about blew me away. Thank you ever so much for the super review, Russ!! Did you see the 7 star review I got for this from Tom and the contest committee? It should be right under your review here. I don't know if it's something new, but it's the first one I ever got, and you know me, I got misty--of course--when I read it :))
I was just looking at some of the damage back there. Reminds me of Katrina. Really bad. I see that you still have power :) Again, thank you for this!!! :)shawn

This is such a beautiful piece that you deserve very bit of a 6. Great usage of artist licence. Beautiful face surrounded by red to bring her to life. A touch of green bounces off the red as opposite attracts. Congratulations on a terrific piece.

He took a swim to the bin. i had spend all that time on him and in the end just did not like it. I just couldn't connect with the painting at all. Friends said you didn/t I said I did. I will upload the new painting sometime this week, Off to my mothers for a few day to help her out. Catch you soon. Sandy

Her eyes draw me in. They are wide open, made-up, moist, and reflect light.
Perhaps she is unhappy as a rose.
It's interesting to have eyes that look real in the midst of a face that doesn't.
Like how white her skin is, the blush on her cheeks, the lipstick painted over the shape of her lips.
The surrounding red petals are striking in their color and graceful in their shape.
The color is in shadow and light, with a few bright highlights on the right that are interesting.
The green stem provides some contrast and has light and shadow to help define its lines.
The black backround is just the thing against the red.
Like her central placing.
very nice detail of the dew drop.
I can't give you more than 5 stars, but would like to.
very nice work.

What a beautiful idea. She has a little heart face. Those big eyes look that look a bit frightened. I love her mouth, but I wish it was the same color as the petals around her hair. Very creative.

Exquisite portrait in red of this beauty that reminds the viewer of a porcelain Hummel.
The hypnotic eyes are enchanting. Stunning impact

Nice work!
I like the look of this. It reminds me of something seen in a child's cartoon show or book. I like the idea and I am impressed with the quality.

She is such a sweet and innocent fairy.. I like those huge eyes shining and the lips:) The blend of an innocent face with a beautiful red rose is so very lovely and a creative idea. The black background with the green leaves at the top and bottom make the red rose pop on the screen.. This is an amazing digital creation:)
