This is an amazing picture!! the mother hen with a chick and her eggs!! Great capture!!
Suggestions for improvement: (Did I say this in the last review?) Use a polarizing filter when taking pictures in sunlight. Makes a big difference. You will get a much nicer photo if you get on the ground and are on the same level as the birds. Looking down is the worst angle. (although sometimes the ground is unforgiving!) Use a tripod or rest your elbows on something. your photos will be much clearer. (hope you don't mind the suggestions.) Paula

Thanks Paula, always appreciate constructive criticism as it helps to improve my photography. Unfortunatley circumstances didn't allow for carrying a tripod on this day but would love to return sometime without the grandchildren (4, 2 and 1) who don't give you time to setup the good shots. :)

looks like a plover Mary. They have a yellow sharp spike under their wing which i noticed when i uploaded my pics of them. Nasty weapon. Have never seen their eggs before. Well framed with lots of interest and good focus. The white is perhaps a little blown out but hard to get in the middle of the day. Great shot.

Thanks Sonja, was difficult to get as the mesh was really small and time of day lighting was woeful but when you are only there for limited time do best you can so I appreciate your rating and comments. :) Mary

yeah i know...we're always at these places in the middle of the day and i always end up with exposure problems. Its either really bright or really shady LOL xoxoxo

Apparently you can overcome it with bracketing according to one of my feedback reviews. Have just read up on it but not sure how it works so will have to try it out. Cheers Mary

bracketing? I wouldn't have a clue LOL...good for you to give it a try! xoxoxo

This is a great photo of a new mother. Nice POV, and crisp clear detail. I would have adjusted the contrast a little more to make the birds stand out more against the background.

This is a good capture, love the yellow face of Mommy. You have done well through the fence, getting close enough for it ti disappear. Well done

Thanks so much, yes I think they should put some camera holes in fence to make it bit easier for we amateur photographers :)

An interesting composition, I like the way you adjusted what is in the frame by the way you cropped the image. I am also thinking the focus is off, the clarity on the main birds face is out of focus, and the chick seems to be in need of clarity as well. Did you bracket the shot?

Thanks Lucien, no I didn't bracket the shot, have just read up on that so will give it a go next time (and perhaps leave the grandchildren behind also). Appreciate your suggestions.

A lovely capture of this unusual bird and her chick. I love the look of her eggs and how they camouflage in with the ground. Here brilliant yellow face adds a good pop of color to the shot. Great shot.

Good eye to find this wonderful nature capture. It sure blends into the nest. Good timing to get this event. It may been nice to use a bigger lens if possible.

Thanks so much, lesson of the day was don't expect any extra special photos when you are with 1, 2 and 4 year old grandchildren. They just want to move on to the next thing dragging Nanna with them thereby not allowing any change in lens. Good fun though :)

I know what you mean, but they sure are fun to be with.

What an amazing moment caught!! Do you know what kind of bird it is? I see the yellow at the front of the bird, but can't make it out..Is that her beak opened? I literally JUST woke up..It's around 7 am..Yes..I'm dedicated..And haven't had my morning coffee yet. ;)
Nice detail in this shot too..Feathers the baby has really stand out..Camouflage for them..Almost resembling the egg pattern.
Nice shot through the mesh..
Thanks for sharing this moment. Great photo!

Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed the photo and yes that is the beak. Focus could have been sharper but circumstances didn't allow for that. I believe it is a Plover (one of the other reviewers suggested that).

Awesome shot. Lovely subject with a very good meaning. Well framing and nice work with computer photo editing software to control the light. Natural color captured. Good job done.
