Ok, clowns are scarey to me, but this had more of a mime face, so I stpped to take a look! Initial impact is bold with a graphic art feel. THe white, black and red work very well together in this playful fantasy!. THe composition appears well thought out but has a spontaneous feel. Very nice!

    Thank you very much. :)
He is a white clown and you are right he comes more from the mimic side. Pantomimes like Marcel Marceau and actors like Jean Louis Barrault used similar masks.

Good initial impact and excellent presentation. A good entry for the contest. Imaginative and creative work. You have created a high spirited clown, the expression on his face shows this.
The red rose adds a splash of colour.
An enjoyable picture, good luck in the contest.:)

Very well done.
The piano keys really help make this very imaginative and unique, the clown's fingers on the keys and the red rose add great emphasis.
Great facial expression.
Best wishes on the contest.

great fantasy and imagination. I like the colors used and the snow-flakey background. The red rose connects with his red lips and the black keys to his head and eyes. Nice presentation.

Thank you very much for your encouraging review and your high rating. Mmmm, your mime instructor? That is funny. I really did not have anyone special in mind while painting it; but it is not the first time that somebody tells me one of my characters looks like someone they know.

An interesting piece of work that fires the imagination. I do like the way his collar becomes a keyboard and his, white gloved, hand is playing it. The face is expressive with sparkling eyes and good shadow detail. A good composition with the face so far to the left and the keyboard curling up and round to the right.

What an interesting image! This style of clown was popular in the deco era which is my favourite era, so I was attracted to this image straightaway. Very creative. I like the composition a great deal with the frill around the neck looking remarkably like piano keys! Good features on the face, including the smiling lips. I like the red rose which is another good touch, adding more colour. Very nicely framed with interesting shaded areas. Unusual and visually appealing. Good luck in the contest.

I thought it was my bank manager. You would never know this was computer generated if you didn't say as it looks like a painted canvas.
