This is very nice - I particularly like the story that goes behind the hat, it makes the hat a lot more interesting. I would have like to see a little more background to the hat, but that is just me.

I think you did a very nice job with this.

Thank you very much Julie for your great review!! A larger DOF would have distracted from the hat and the intricate details.

This is wonderful, the clarity, and color----fantastic-----I love the story, the love two of you share, the story the hat its self tells, the way you've presented the hat on a post-----something solid to lean on when things get heavy. Thank you so much for sharing this special part of your life

A great shot LowRider. Like the story. Your bro sounds like a good guy.
The first effect of this picture for me was, " Why is that hat on the post" I think this could be a five star if it would of been on someones head with the rim of the hat covering their expression.

Thank you for your great review leon! For me, if the hat was on someone's head, it would have drifted the eye of the viewer to places other than the hat, other than that, this hat will only be on my brother's head, whom is 1000 miles away, or mine, other than me not liking my pic taken---I too ugly for the hat!!! Teasin'--or maybe not, maybe I am too ugly for hat!!

Some story, full of a lot of love....I enjoyed reading the story behind the hat...The story adds to the character of the hat and subsequent specialness of this photo...The simplicity of this shot, as well as detail & light give this pix a special uniquness ...It is great that you and your bro are so close too..

First off, that is an awesome hat; and for him to give you something with so much of his life and with such value behind it-is just an awesome gesture from a brother to his sister. Great shot, the lighting, and the framing as well-Orion008. Thank you for the story.

Great picture! Besides the story, the picture is crisp, the colors complement each other well, the way the hat sits on the post (like wearing it) and the fact that its on a fence post. Very telling. Thanx!

Now isn't that something, the hat is yours now!! You seem to have a closeness with your brother and this is special, and he has given you something that will immediately reflect his values and thought the minute you see this hat, and in this way he can always be close to you and you to him! Wonderful story, and heart warming to hear of such closeness! Nice focus on the hat, cool storyline with a meaning. Thanks for sharing!!

Love the simplicity of how you placed a hat on an old piece of wood! And how it's kicked it up with an interesting band with splashes of color and personal trinkets filled with wonderful stories! Excellent composition too! Hopefully, your brother is still alive and out exploring?
