This has a scifi feel to it in that you have taken the womb and the foetus and placed them in a dark water like environment, apart from the mother. Almost like test tube development on a larger scale. The foetus, in its final stage of development, with the umbilical cord attached, is very detailed and nicely illuminated. Thanks for sharing

Cool, whodathunkit to do a sharpie marker drawing of a fetus afloat in his/her own world of darkness.

Beautifully handled.... the only problem I have (ahem) is that pink, that very hot pink umbilicus why is it only half there in pink and the other is snaking it's way into the blackness in gray? Also, the umbilicus is usually attached to the placenta so the representation here is quite medically incorrect but could be interpreted as a deeper meaning deviating from reality. Am not sure what you were going after.

Still it's a great piece, placenta, amniotic fluid and a hot kid getting ready to enter this world and to better it!

I have always been put off by the human body. Blood and guts and then kind of thing if you know what I mean. This even extended into things like knowing we have a skeleton inside us. I know it sounds crazy, but just the way I have been made! So never really looked at a unbord child in the womb in those close a detail because it always made me feel ill! I have to say though that your work is beautiful. Perhaps it is the blue colour surround the baby that makes me think he is framed against the sky rather than fluids inside the womb. The baby is well developed too so I can relate to that as a person and not a thing! Pretty impressive is all I can say in summing up.

You do not need to say anything to me and I would only hope it would cause others to take a deeper look at one of the most, if not the most unprotected life forms on earth. Well done with the story and composition, John

Yes I agree with you. What's more important? You did a good job rendering this baby. The womb looks safe. Nice image and message.
Happy holidays.

An interesting In-Vitro piece!! One has to wonder where that umbilicle cord is headed? Based upon your sense of humor, I could imagine it's headed to all sorts of places?? This boy or girl child needs to make a move pretty quickly, as his/her apartment is getting a little too small! An eye grabbing piece! Nice work....again!
