I have been sitting here reading this amazing story. I have read it three times and still am in awe. I am not sure if I feel sorry for dramatic changes to Willy's life because I am not sure if he is happier now than the pressures that he was under in the busy world in his previous life,(confusion). I do feel the sadness though of the possible pending loss of this amazing man to the world. Thank you LowRider for this update of Willy. I still remember your original in B/W and the character that I saw in that shot. This shot with the story line has a strong impact and a lasting impression on my mind.

Thank you Shrews for such wonderful words!! I really believe that Willy is happier with his present life, he is always so full of life and big smiles when we spend time together, I always leave him feeling his love---

I love Willy (don't know him personally of course just through your posting and Gajnaths painting) and am so sorry to hear he is ill.I am also sad to hear about your neighbor I will say a prayer for both of these gentlemen

This photo is so beautiful Deb, so rich with color and light. You really captured Willy's light and sparkle. I would love to do a drawing of him if you would allow it. I am doing one of Alans latest posts The Muslim gentleman and this would be a great addition to that theme.

I was hoping you would update us on Willy. Of course this wasn't the news I was expecting or hoping for...there never seems to be enough time for us to get to know the extraordinary people we meet in our lives...everything seems to end too soon. You will always have those moments you've spent with him, and the photos you've taken, and no matter what, he will live on because of that.

What a wonderful story about this man, I loved it the first time you posted a pic of him but this additional info about him is sad but a wonderful tribute to him.. Sorry to hear he isn't feeling well, I hope that he is at least without any pain. Thank you again for sharing such a wonderful story.

Hey Low.....you're having a bad time and I'm sorry. I remember Willy from your first post and you were right about him having an amazing life history and it looks like every year of it is etched in that amazing face.It's a wonderful portrait !
