A change from your usual close up shots Willie. Your eye for detail is as good as ever. I like the way you have used the environment to frame the bird. Perhaps cloning the two single blades of grass on the left may help. Mitch

Brilliant capture. Excellent focus on the bird that shows all that wonderful detail and texture in the feathers. Great range of colours and the green background enhances the colours in the bird. Presentation and composition are first rate. Well done Bill

beautiful photo of the finch...I don;t get too many male finches at the feeder for some reason just see the females all the time...good job nice focus lots of detail in the little guy

These birds are hard to capture in the right pose but this one really works well. I like the way the bird seems to be looking toward the center of the frame and the tree branches are a great frame around the colorful bird. Great shot.

Sometimes nature presents opportunities and this was obviously one of them for you. What a great composition - it's as if the bird knew the rule of thirds! Gorgeous framing with the pine needles. Wonderful DOF. This would make a fantastic Christmas/holiday card with the colors! Beautiful!
