Excellent subject. The pine needles, descending green background and the red finch off to the side is a great photograph. I like how you allowed more background and limbs to the right. I am not always impressed with centered bugs or birds. I like to see them in their habitat. You did a good job with this. Your clarity and framing are done very well.

Wow, beautiful photo. The pine needles frame the picture perfectly. The bird being the only red thing against the green makes it stand out a lot, so he's very striking. The branches just make the composition wonderful.

I like homer a lot, did you happen to use a flash on him or did you high light him in the computer, inquiring minds want to know.
Super good use of a natural frame, coupled with a wispy out of focus back ground you have yourself another winner in your portfolio.

Thank you so very much! I rarely use a flash on shots like this. The light was good to start with. I adjusted brightness and contrast.
