Oh my goodness how wonderful! I just love these little red birds. Your capture is just excellent with such clarity and great focus, and oh so well composed. Someone told me that Alamy stock pays the best....I wouldn't know because I have not sold anything. Your bird images are so fine, they might do really well.

Thank you so very much! I submitted three to Istock. They were all rejected because I had enhanced the detail with topaz adjust. It sounds like they want straight out of the camera with minor adjustments. They say the web designers want to do their own adjustments. Do you know anything about that?

I do know that quality control is a stickler to get through. I usually sharpen some with Photoshops filter and that is about all. They are so so particular. Don't give up - try some more, or resubmit those closer to their first entry out of the camera. Your bird images are good, and you will make it. It took me almost 6 months (I had no idea what I was doing) and great discouragement to get any accepted. They were food images, and have not sold a one, so am trying portrait work (lifestyle type) - got 3 accepted but now working on model releases. At least with the birds you will not need model releases! :)

Thank you! I will try again but this time just submit with minor adjustments! Thanks for the advise!

I love surprises like that! Like the time I didn't have my camera and a chickadee landed on my head! THAT would have been a photo to see! LOL!
Great texture of the feathers..Great vibrant coloring of this little bird! Love the fact he was looking straight at you when you snapped the shot of him!
Lovely capture of the branches surrounding him..They have kind of framed your photo for you!
Lovely hues of green..And the blurry background sets off all the branches and the needles hanging above him..
Contrast is good, like the difference between the light and the dark. Great use of thirds..Wonderful shot!

The framing is perfect rule of thirds, and the level of detail in the finch and the pine limbs and needles is off the chart great. The background is faded and blurred perfectly. This should be in an Audubon book.
Bravo! Wish I had a 6 left.

What a pretty bird, and surrounding by pine needles he looks so bright. I like his expression, as tho he's saying, "Who are you? ANd what do you want?" :)

Willie, this is adorable. Such a great picture and the birds pose is classic as if he knew you were taking his pic so he gave you a great pose. Beautiful.

WOW Willie this is stunning, perfect framing with those pine leaves, perfect composition of the finch looking into the rest of the image.

Perfect light and contrasts especially on the bird and love those colours.

Good capture of this little guy.
We have them in the summer, sometimes they act almost tame.
Like the pop of red against the green pine needles.
Good use of thirds.
Good framing and lighting.

Willie,
A fantastic close up picture of the male House Finch perched in the pine tree with its head turned to get a better look at you.
Superb composition, lighting, camera techniques * razor sharp focus
