Cleo, very moving piece and your commentary is so good to get the background to this piece.

Very powerful and I can feel her anxiety and pain in this image.

just wonderful

Quite a dramatic image posted here into the competition! Like the pose you have created. Shades and tones are good. Your various processes have worked out well. Well created!

Hi Cleo, Love your skill of telling a story in not only an image but words as well! You did both beautifully! The way you created the image gives it the mystic feeling it needs. This has a ghostly feeling to it. For a tree spirit it is perfect. The tale is equally perfect my friend! You know how to tell a story and keep the reader fascinated! Well done on both counts! So wish I had a six! This deserves it with flying colors! :o) Nancy

This is so beautiful and mysterious- I love the monotone coloration which lends great drama and highlight to the nymph and her unusual position as she lays near the ground. Great story and information provided. Very well done.

Wow! This is a powerful piece, very impressive to view this digitally created scene that tells your interesting story so very well, the grey tones throughout this scene are a perfect choice to support this almost ghostly nature spirit. She barely clings to life holding the seeds with the hope that her child will be allowed to grow.
I can see this hung for display in a gallery of unique artworks .
Very well presented Cleo.

That's what'll happen to them sometimes,Cleo!
It sounds like this one was a 'Fixed and Stable' Hamadryad rather than a more common type of a Tree Nymph but there are differences ( sometimes confusing differences! ) between the Greek and Northern European/Celtic mythologies regarding such things!
That's a 'Good Show' of a presentation though,my friend! I like it! : )

Since I do not do digital art I find this piece amazing because it looks more like a charcoal drawing and a well done charcoal drawing. I love the ambiguity of the area surrounding the girl. It is hard to say what is going on but this adds to the dramaic mysterious and dream like effect. The girl is well depicted.

Thank you very much, I appreciate your kind review. It is digital, but painted in a technique which resembled traditional painting with thousands of brushstrokes. It is not charcoal [which also be possible]; but oil colors in the sepia range. It was finished with a watercolor overlay, a technique which is not possible in traditional painting. The girl is a dying Hamadryad, a tree spirit from Greek mythology. The picture is better understandable with the story it was painted for. The story is provided in my comments.
