Nice capture. Focus, lighting, clarity are good as are the colors and details of this cardi. Nice camera work. Went to Seymour yesterday and saw over 500 Sandhills but as expect, no sun and they were to far off.

If you get the chance or maybe you already have, a photo by naturetown of a fox might be worth a look. It is awesome.

I just love this image for the sharp focus and detail of this beautiful bird. Nicely composed with good doff. Nice texture in the feathers. As usual, well done. Sam

Beautiful bird that is a good size in the picture and is nice and sharply focussed.
I love the green of the background but it is a shame about the redish twig on the left.
It is also a shame that the branch is covering part of the bird.

Wow beautiful is this Willie!

Wonderful colours especially the reds of the bird.

Love that mottled green background it is perfect for this subject.

The detail and clarity in the feathers and especially the face is superb, what a great nature study.

another very beautiful cardinal. super in every respect and they sure make for the most vital subjects. it's hard to understand why they are so red but they look amazing.

Me, too. I live in Ohio so I see this bird. GREAT shot! Crisp and clear. Nice composition. Like how you blurred the background.

Love the shot, Good color and detail, nice blurred out background to pull the red out. Contrast is nice as well. Also like the detail in his perch

I live in the UK and believe these birds are not seen here. I have never ever seen one anyway. How lucky you are to have loads where you are! They certainly brighten up a cold dreary day with their brightly coloured red feathers. Other birds can obviously see them so you would think they would get mobbed - but perhaps not. I am not a bird expert! I like your framing and composition with the bird on the fir stem. The foliage and stem are interesting in their own right. Your background is beautiful blurred so all the tones of green merge into one, complimenting the shape of the bird and enhancing the overall photograph. I keep thinking I might have cloned out the thin green leaves of the fir tree in the upper part of the frame, as well as the stray twig in the left hand side. Then I look at the image again and think no, it is fine as is!
