Fabulous capture of this bright red male Cardinal Willie. Super dof with excellent sharp focus, exposure and framing. The males here seem to be quite shy, they are gone in a shot as soon as you move! But, the females are the total opposite, they seem to love the camera. Excellent techs all around and CONGRATULATIONS on your win of the Cold contest!;)

I am one who never sees these birds in real life. We just don't have them in Australia. You are lucky to have so many in your backyard. Their colors are brilliant on the photos. I can only image how vivid they look in reality. Absolutely beautiful work.

Yes we do Willie but I have not figured out how to photograph birds correctly yet. I have not managed to get a good bird shot yet that I am proud to post for the world to see.

Beautiful shot of this cardinal. Love the color contrasts of red, browns and green.

Good clarity and depth. Placement and framing very nice.

Willie,
A perfecy & beautiful picture of this scarlet plumed male Cardinal bird perched in a large pine tree against the soft blurred green background. Artistic placing of the Cardinal in the frame, taken with superb caera techniques & very sharp focus.
Methinks you were under observation as you shot this picture?
Susan
