It certainly does contrast well. Beautiful colouring and great lighting on the flowers and the butterfly. Nicely positioned in the frame and good composition.

Nice capture of this Monarch. Pov/dof good. Focus. lighting and clarity are all very good and am glad you did not blur the background to much. The orange of the monarch really stand out against the blue and green. Sorry to hear about the absence of butterflies there cause the are fun to watch. Nice job and thanks for sharing.

The angle is good the negative space is balance and not overpowering to the butterfly. The lighting seems a little harsh and it seems to blow out some of the vivid colors on the butterflies wings, like there seems to be a lack of shimmer or pop there. Still nice overall composition. I might consider taking it into Photoshop and adjusting the n brightness and contrast some to get a better balance in that regard.
