Great capture.
Lighting is good, shining off his shell.
Good artist's notes.
Good focus and framing.
Well done.

Wow! great looking shot of the tortoise! Bet you had all the time in the world to shoot!:) The light, colour and the composition have worked well. Good effort!

Thanks so much, strangely enough this guy decided he was going to chase after his mate just as I was about to shoot and of course that meant going out of the area where you could get a shot and inbetween some trees and shrubs.

Nice sharp image. Like the apparent smile on the face. The lighting is a bit too much for me and as a result some of the detail of the shell is lost. Darken this area a tiny bit and the detail will emerge. Well captured.

Thanks for your constructive feedback. Lighting was a problem as he was coming through the shady part - played with contrast and lighting but best I could get.

Incredible photograph of an equally incredible reptile! Thanks for sharing this image as I have never seen one. My wife is currently on her ipad looking through your zoo book and is amazed with some of the shots. Clearly I am going to have to spend some time in a zoo! Great focus on this well illuminated big guy, certainly large enough to create his own shadow.

Very nice picture with translates the weightiness of this creature. I like the framing and the author's notes are good. I wonder if the focus could be a bit sharper?
