Here in my country we call this a teasle. your rendering of it is quite effective, especially the gradients from green to silvery-blue to blue diagonally. It brings out all the prickly bits in it. Well done.

Thank you very much for the lovely review. Do you mean teasle, or thistle. Because it is some sort of thistle.

A Teasle is a kind of thistle up here in Canada. I only notice them in the fall.

I see. Somebody else also suggested that this was a teasle, and another member also called it a Sea Holly.

out of curiosity googled it and this what Wikipedia had to say:Teasels are easily identified with their prickly stem and leaves, and the inflorescence of purple, dark pink or lavender flowers that form a head on the end of the stem(s). The inflorescence is ovoid, 4â??10 centimetres (1.6â??3.9 in) long and 3â??5 centimetres (1.2â??2.0 in) broad, with a basal whorl of spiny bracts. The first flowers begin opening in a belt around the middle of the spherical or oval flowerhead, and then open sequentially toward the top and bottom, forming two narrow belts as the flowering progresses. The dried head persists afterwards, with the small (4â??6 millimetres (0.16â??0.24 in)) seeds maturing in mid autumn.

The moon is a thistle!
Sorry but that is what came in my mind first looking at this picture. The thistle seems to glow, just like the moon, and it is reflecting in the water the same. Amazing what you archived just using natural light.

Thank you very much for the lovely review, and I was thinking of the moon myself when I created this. I almost added one, but thought it was better without.

I think also it is better without.

Great work! It does look a little like aluminum. The background you created is just outstanding, with all the spot lights and the active reflection in water. Thanks for sharing.

Name of this plant is Eryngium. Common name is Sea Holly. Gorgeous plants which I grow in the garden. Flowers are steely blue in appearance, just like in your image. They last for a long time. Probably a member of the thistle family but not sure on that point. Like your framing with the flower looking down into the frame from the top left hand corner. Included some foliage too which is decorative in its own right. I particularly like the streaks of light in shades of blue and green, colours picked out from the plant itself. Very attractive and thanks for sharing.

Thank you very much for the lovely review and for the information about the flower. It is true that they last very long. When the rest of the flowers were dead, this one was still looking good.

This is really artistic. I thought you had modified the color of the flower. Thanks for sharing. Your choice of special effects was very good.
