I like this picture. The tiger sure looks relaxed and happy. I like the expression on his face. He looks pretty comfortable. JD

I like the Tiger enclosure at Adelaide Zoo got some good shots there of the Tigers and Lions over the past couple of years. I like the way you've captured this big cat, the shade can be very effective giving a more natural look to the image, and I like the placement in the frame and composition. For me and it's only my opinion I would consider a bit more cropping and a little editing in photoshop just to lift the shadows so you can see a little more of those stunning markings. I find they are more active if you go about half an hour before they are fed. Great job I like your work your portfolio has some cracking shots Mary.

Thanks so much, I really appreciate your constructive feedback. Adelaide Zoo is great but not keen on the Lions area think they could use a nice space like the tigers but guess it is money issues. Will try and time it for before feeding next time :)

Agree with you, when I was there a few weeks ago I thought if I was a millionaire I would pay for a new enclosure for them!

It's a nice picture but for me the tiger is in too much shadow. I'd like to be able to see more of his beautiful colors. I think with some adjustments in photoshop he could really stand out.

Nice clarity and balance of color. Perhaps a little cropping to bring the tiger to the center of the shot. Love the shade he's in.

This is a good shot Mary. You captured him nicely resting in the shade of the tree, yet still you managed to illuminate the great markings and color. I have seen some nice zoo shots on FAR, I think I am going to have to find a good one and visit. Excellent clarity in the image with the sun filtering through the branches.

Thanks so much Geokat, I really appreciate your feedback. We are fortunate to have a zoo about 3km from home and then an open range one an hours drive but well worth visiting.

We are get hot and bothered, even animals. This one is sensible opting for the shade. Like the pose and your capture. I have see light dancing on the foliage behind the tiger. The tiger himself though is rather on the dark side. You could use software to boost his tones to make him more visible to the viewer.

Great close up of this tiger. Great shot for a zoo photo. Sometimes it's hard to see them this close. Even though in the shade, the lighting is still good and you can clearly see the tiger. Excellent job!
