It is absolutely gorgeous work and nicely painted. Bee and flower always a great subject and this digital art proves it one more time. Different shades and colors are nicely drawn with great details of bee and flower. It is a piece of joy to look at.

I remember that song well. It did have that Honky-Tonk rhythm and sound.

This is a good depiction of the song. The yellow bee on the yellow flower stands out against the purple petals and the green background.

Great image Cleo. Thank you for reviving ~ Steve

great to see this picture and also learn about the origins on the song and the lyrics. you have made a rather pleasant and uplifting presentation and the colours are all truly delightful.

This s so cute! I know the song too, though you seem to know more about it's origins than I do. LOL This is definitely a smile pleaser. Both the flower and the bee are wonderful!
Nicely Done Cleo and a joy to view! :o) Nancy

What a great description of this painting and the origin of the Bees or birds and how they are used for the interpretation of love; wonderful colors, details, composition and spectacular background that shows this painting very beautifully;
thank you for sharing Cleo.

Hey Cleo!
Beautiful work, the colors are engaging and soft. The contrasts and depth are excellently rendered with those shadows and highlights, which I always appreciate in your work. The bee looks at home sitting atop this flower. Well done Cleo!

I guess that was a 'cute' way of mentioning ( while not actually 'explaining' ) the 'Great Life Force' to children way back in the day,wasn't it? : )
It's an attractive digital painting,Cleo!
It's enjoyably colorful and fun to see!
'Good Show',my friend!

    You are right, Sean, that was indeed the way of explaining the life force. But... as in most cases the children always know way more then their parents told them The children just kept quiet about the things they observed. :o)

    I figured it out from carefully reading a Biology book when I was little,Cleo!

Oh my goodness ! I used to sing this song when I was a little girl! I learned it by listening to it being played on the radio! What a wonderful digital artwork this is Cleo! The lovely purple petals that fall back away from the prominent round yellow cluster in the center! The bee is adorable and so well positioned up on the yellow portion of the flower! His pretty yellow body with black stripes and his wings fluttering on top! The green tones background is working perfectly to push the flower and bee forward , I like the way you show the light coming in from lower right corner. This is a delightful lustration for children ! I can see it as a page in a storybook all about nature! Very well created, beautifully arranged and presented!
