I have always been an admirer of your drawings and in fact got inspired from them! As you can see from my regular postings of drawings. I like this one for its unique style. The hand exudes power as I can see it. Good luck in the contest!

I have to say that this is not a very beautiful hand. OK, I agree that not everyone has a pair of beautiful hands! But for me this hand looks deformed, probably because the fingers have been bent backwards facing into the palm. I have just made the shape your hand is drawn with my own hand and have to say my hand feels quite uncomfortable in that position and does not now look very attractive although I would say it still looks more shapely than your hand (I would say that, wouldn't I?) There is not a lot of wrist in this drawing but what is hinted at looks rather thick and out of proportion to the hand. Finally, although my skin did form creases when my hand was in this pose, I did not see the criss cross marks that you have drawn. I can see where the bones are in the fingers which are fine, but it is the lines running from the left hand side of the hand across the back which do not look correct (to me anyway). On the other hand (excuse the pun) I am no expert in hands!

    susanlen,

first off, thank you for your support of the drawing and my artwork, you critique and the time to write it is appreciated. This hand is a hard hand, a powerful hand, or that is what I wanted to express, showing all that a hand is, the veins, flesh, muscle, tendons, all to create that dynamic, hope fully 3D image effect. Remember some of the lines are emphasized for their dramatic enhancement & impact on the viewer. After all I am trying to create a feeling of power, is it caused you to think that at all, it succeeded.

    Have great day, cheers!!!

I like the outlines of a hardworking hand--the wrinkled skin, the bone, the joints, the varicose veins, protrusion marks, the knuckles, the cartilages, the nails, and everything !
Nice sketch, vivid but realistic!

It looks like it would be Supermans hand. Such great detail, it's great. Good way to learn how to draw a hand. It looks so powerful, wonderful anatomy drawing.

    Natalie,

I was trying to show power and the many aspects that a hand being flexed could show using just the one media with not smuding or using multiple pencils to get the line variation, its all drawn with a #2 pencil.

thank you for your continued support of the drawing and my artwork, you critique and the time to write it is appreciated.

    have great day, cheers!!!

Interesting "sculpture like' representation. This looks like my husbands hands.. he has big veins lie this..
If you attempt was to make it look mechanical in nature, the well done! Otherwise.. you could used different size pencil leds, and lighter touch for some areas around the veins and joints to soften the skin more. It is dynamic.. but as you can see with Michael Angelo in the image of God touching Adams hand, they are both strong powerful hands without the strong lines.. hands to me at the most challenging because they have so many bones and muscles, so bravo on this one.
