This is so beautiful, Cleo. Your childhood dreams are very similar to mine! I used to do ballet and was obsessed with musicals (still am, actually). I love the colours you used in this lovely creation - so delicate with an ethereal quality in keeping with a dream. Sometimes less is more and and simple opposed to fussy is a winner. This is one of those. I like your notes and this illustration of your ballet shoes. Beautifully arranged. Fine and believable pallet, light and dark background to frame. A really pretty work, I really like it.

This is beautiful! My daughter aspired to be a ballerina. She didn't have the right body type for it, but she was able to teach dance for several years. This painting brings fond memories to me. I the shoes are very pretty, but what I like the best is the background. It looks like the slippers are hanging from the wall and there is a window next to them shining bright and inviting light into you painting. I wish you well in the contest.

Simple and beautiful--what more can I say? The "sunlight" adds some motion to the hanging ballet slippers, and the slippers themselves have a lovely, fairy-like quality.
