I'm surprised mom did come after you. :) This is an excellent catch. Nice framing with the chick spanning the image. Great camera techniques - excellent detail (focus) and background (DOF). Good lighting. This is also my first time seeing a young peacock - thanks for sharing this beautiful image! -john

Thanks John. Mom was right there. But I guess they are so used to visitors, it does not bother them.

What a precious shot. I have seen the chicks when they were even younger than this but not this close up. Great shot in the shadows!

I wish I did see them smaller. Maybe next year. Lol

Win some, lose some. Find this one to be diametrically opposed to the one with the green bee. In lieu of delicate and wonderful tones, rather harsh contrasts and dark brooding colors.

Interesting subject but visually, find this one somewhat disappointing. Would like better sharpness, lighting and subject definition.

Hell, you got a damn good batting average. As hard as we try, we also all have some personal biases.

Really nice full body shot. Love the earthy tones to the shot. Field and Stream baby. Nice lighting, composition, color and clarity. Beautiful.

I know that feeling of excitement! Nice clear shot of the hen in her own environment, very rare to see!

We can only tell when they're not with their mom and there's a red comb growing in their face for peacock and nothing grows for peahen.
It's too early to tell for this one.
Cute illumination on her head though monochromatic but she managed to be recognized.
Thanks for sharing this ,Irene...

I have never seen a peacock chick, thank you Eileen! How big was it? Good initial impact. Good focus. Appropriate light since I wouldn't want you to frighten him with a flash. Nice detail. cainse

About the size of a smaller chicken I'd say. Do not know how old they were. But when I saw them, I freaked out :)

She is not happy your intruding but I am. Nice tight cropping. The hints of light on the back help show off his shape and facial features. Good photography is finding a great opportunity and taking advantage of it. Great Shot!
