One of the best macro shots I have ever seen of a dragonfly. Terrific detail and color in this well lighted photograph. Your macro focus is brilliant, and it showcases the wing structure perfectly.

You "really" caught this guy close up! This is great initial impact for sure. I love that you captured the colors so well and the photo
is excellent in sharpness. For having done no modifications, this is a great entry and I wish you the Best of Luck, my friend~

WOW!! You are a macro nut..this is super..can you belive this? day one, and I have already used all my sixes..damn..I owe you one..do MORE of this, you are very good at it, not only the detail, but the emotion, many people do dragonflies, but they rarely are able to engage the viewer like this! "WOW!" Right back at you! I almost fell out of my chair when I read your review! I SO LOVE to capture the moment and dragonflies are such an awesome subject. To know you think this deserved a six means more than you know. Thank you for all the lovely compliments! Your right about me being a marco nut, this was a handheld shot about 5 inches from the subject. I LOVE macro photography! IF you have the time I'd love for you to see "Got Yah!" THat shot was in a blind contest which is over now. LOve to know what YOU think? THank you My Friend for the awesome review! :o) Helvi

Wondered where you got your title from but read your notes which informed me! I find these insects very interesting. They come in quite a few colours and often I have blue, brown, green and red in my own garden. Very good shot showing close up details of the head, upper body and wings. Good Luck in the contest.

Well done Sweet Helvi! Your exposure is spot on! Great clarity and up close view of this Blue darner dragonfly! Wow! They do always look like they are smiling!
They live a short time as dragonflies. There lifespan is longer in the morph stage.
This is a stellar capture with super clarity, dof and details!
Well done!
