I didn't know they used lures..that is very interesting! I learn something everyday! LOL! The anle is nice, he seems oblivious to your presence! Nice detasil on the wing feathers at the edge, and you have made him look pensive! Donkeyoatey

Two points I like about this image. Firstly the bird which is quite beautiful. Wonderful colours in the feathers and a long slender bill. Profile is excellent andshows lots of detail. The other point is the background. Has some wonderful soft tones which really enhances the bird and overall shot.

This picture depicts the heron's keen eye for fish. It looks sleek and streamlined and very alert. They are quite good at fishing. Super details in your photo. JD

You must have so much fun at those wetlands. How many varieties of birds can you find there? You seem to have plenty to choose from. The photo is excellent as usual.

Is there a tourist information center there? Those places sometimes have info on how many varieties of bird in the area.

I just love your bird shots as they are very special, and different - this one has a very special lighting which is perfect for the dark bird to bring color harmony in your image - very nice portrait with a great focus, sharp in details - the background has wonderful light pattern creating a super ambiance in this image - very well done

It's like he is just posing for the picture! It would be nice to see a little more of him, but I understand that he really isn't posing and capturing this shot was not necessarily easy. Nice focus and depth.
