Picture perfect. Great composition, centering the main image. Excellent angle, capturing the lines, motion, and texture of the wings. Sharp image, showing lines and motion in the water. Artist Notes is great!

Love this photo. I have tried getting good bird photos and it is hard but you have done a great job. Love the detail and the bird is in focus and not blurred anywhere, that can be hard to do. I love how crisp the water is and you can see a bit of the birds reflection in the water as well. Great job.

I cannot see the answer in the title, but it doesn't really matter because you have pictured this bird really well. You have captured a lovely shine in the water, and also a bit of a reflection from the flying bird, and it is standing out in an excellent way from this background.
Your focus is spot on, and the stop action is perfect. It is well defined details to be seen both in the feathers and the head, and the exposure is perfect. It is also nice and clear colors in this shot.
The cropping is neatly done, and the bird is well placed within the frame given enough space to fly into. This is really a well taken photo and with an excellent DOFF, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Unusual but very attractive bird with that curved bill. Also distinctive with the red feet, bill and black tips to the ends of the wings. Very good capture with the bird not that high above the water. Like the tones in this shot. Your framing is very good too with space for the bird to fly into. Focus is spot on. The tones are very muted and I think the topaz adjustment adds an interesting dimension.
