An eerie street

Kinda creepy, but what is going on with the right side of this image? Was that intentional? It reminds me of how film would break and start to melt back in the old days. I'm waiting for Freddy to come out of the woodwork here. Nice shot, could be a little more in focus though.

martinblumberg, well I can tell you this about your picture, it sent shivers up and down my spine. I would not want to walk that street at all. ( maybe in the daytime ). This would make a nice setting for a horror story or poem.

So if you visit Riga someday, I`ll gladly take you to that street. But only at night!

Oooo that is eerie! Looks like someplace I wouldn't want to be! I would be hiding also. I like how you caught the feeling of wanting to hide but yet peek out to see what might get you! The jagged edge caught some of the flash but yet it didn't take away from the street light in the distance. Good picture!

Thanks. By the way, this street is called pike (a fish) street. Actually, it`s not as frightening as it looks in this photo, rather calm and peaceful.

Yes, it is an eerie street, but although I very much like the wood on the left, I wonder about the rest. It is not satisfying, and that is what I want in an image, but anyway, best wishes from me.

Well, I think that this picture is meant to disturb a little. Thanks again for your comments!

Ilove it when artists experiment with mediums and this is proof.
You have done a great job it is a little abstract in the sense that it can be portrayed and viewed in many different ways for me it invoked images of a long journey to begin the feeling such as feeling scared to start of fresh the daunting long and repetitive road/path could be a dream scape maybe really good.

Thanks. I think it does remind a little something of Giorgio de Chirico`s eerie cityscape moods.

You did set the tone and mood of this piece quite nice. You sit your viewer around the corner by framing the street with the green textured wall, as if we're peeking around the bend to see down the narrow lane. The red cast and curve of the abandoned street with the shadowed ligting that leads into the midnight blackness of the sky, has a sense of eerieness. I liked the last touch of framing the left side of the shot with your sculpted touches.

Thank you for the apt remark! It really hit the nail on the head.

This shot is really interesting. At first, it took me a while to work it out but once I did, I realised what a good picture it is - the two different textures on each side of the foreground are unique in themselves. Very nice.
