This is an excellent tribute to Mr. Jones as you sum up who he is and what he is about. The flag lets you know where he comes from and the boats, planes and soldier are all historical representations. He is an artist and a photographer and you have captured him well. Nice tribute and great work.

glad you have enjoyed it and check out his work. very educational. his family, like many other families was in history in the both great wars. ..oh yeah he competed in my old sharpie/bic art contest years back and produce some great drawings. however he is more comfortable with photography. when you review his work let him know you saw the tribute. he does have a sense humor..wink..lol. thanks for the great review.

Another really great work on a good artist. I have never been able to see his works as for some reason he has me on mute. I do not understand why. I don't think I have ever reviewed one of his images. But I guess that's just the way it is sometimes. Anyway I really like this image and tribute to Mr. Jones. Well done Mark. Steve

This is old tribute I did for him years ago. I'm bringing out the old as well promoting the new. I'm currently working on the one for March. I have been informed that these tributes are being posted on FAR Facebook page. Check it out when ya get the chance. Wink. Thanks for the great review

one thing in this world that is total true is this statement.."you are what you are on your last post". some folks view me as a cartoonist drawing nothing but flowers or animal or insects with humor. some know me as an illustrator doing videos drawing story telling and also working with writers or musicians..a few remember my gallery work and make statements that they cant believe it was done with sharpie and bic pens. when i meet a stranger outside the computer and say i do drawings they ask me what do i draw? i smile at them and say "everything". i betcha they think im full of it till i show them those 19 music videos so far and i had this one woman said that i need to get recognized..i laughed and said i am already recognized i just dont get paid enough to make it a living..the art world is as bad as the movie industry. you gotta get that right person with the backroll to get that lucky break..only thing is we get paid way cheaper than those movie stars.lol..you put my name in under google, explorer, etc you can find many pages of my work... i have over 1000 drawings in my portfolio here at FAR but no ones gonna really look at everyone..they would get bored..zzzzzzzzzz..i started these tributes years ago and stopped to go after other projects..this year is gonna be different..i will be doing these tributes (at least one a month) to add onto the book. i think this year will the 1 years in a long while that im not cranking out beau ceau drawings like i used to. i may not make it big like i always dreamed and im not getting any younger but least i can help spread some of that motivation i always had to some of my fellow FAR brothers and sisters. im glad that you have been entertained and do let these folks that i tribute know how much you appreciate their work. it will give them that extra nudge to let them know they are not wasting their time. who knows one day they will be famous and you can say "i remember when.....". thanks for the great review

My goodness...what fun you are having with these compositions! It is always delightful to imagine how your creative mind was working with each flower person. Now we can see how it works with real live characters and what you find pertinent in their personality and talents. Awesome!! I only have one suggestion... you must keep yourself in the plan here. I can see another Rockwell-ish selfie in sharpies! :D You're the best!!

You have made a big footprint on FAR with many of us. You are a busy man. And none of us are getting older. But you are more full of generosity and reality and creativity than most people I know. This is a wonderful effort created by you and Olga. I wish you all the luck and happiness it takes to give so much of yourself to others. i have only done 2.."old man and the sea of ink" and the other is "the cartoonist"..i use them as my avatar at sites..wink

yes my friend, what a fine and dandy tribute. Iv'e been a big fan of yours from day one, though never realized i'd fall victim to one of your wicked and wild tributes. you have depicted some excellent machines and is also very topical, using some images from my trip to finland. you really know how to sum up in a picture a persons body of work and also with your unique style + cheeky monkey, make it so much fun. it's so pleasing that is has been so popular and proves to that GB is a hotbed of history. hail the great mkflood!
