A wonderful composition of these two friends enjoying the day together Eileen. Lucky you to have a canal in your backyard! Excellent focus, composition, dof, exposure and framing:)

I just love these common gallinules. I used to call them chicken ducks. I love the composition here with the two birds balancing each other out. Excellent exposure details and overall feel.

First, let me correct you on the bird. Yes, it is from the Gallinula species, (which the Purple Gallinule is not, it is from the Porphyrula Martinica species )But, both birds are from the Rallidae family. The morehen is considered to be a chicken like bird.
This is a SUPERBULOUS capture! Love the floating log, the two birds and awesome reflections!
Well done E! Lovely shot!
And..yep..bird geek! I know!

Wonderful find and capture, of "four" birds together. The reflection is so clear it is very impressive. Composition and lighting and colors and focus are all outstanding.

A very good shot here, like it with reflections of the birds and light on the water. Like the Nikon D7000 as it works well with higher ISO's. Very well done.

Love the d7000. Just need a better lens which I'm saving for. :)

This is a lovely image. Great composition and generally I like the post-processing. When I looked at this I was aware that something was bugging me but I cannot quite put my finger on it. I think that it is an incongruity in the reflections of the birds. The shimmer in the water should be clear in the birds' reflections. You may feel that this is nitpicking. However, the reflections are so important in this image that they need to be spot on. Nevertheless, great image.

I truly appreciate your feedback on this dr merlin. It is a true reflection and not touched upon. But I did post process. My thanks to you for this wonderful review. And your nitpicking is how I learn to be a better photographer, so I do appreciate it :)

Well done Eileen, I am liking this shot very much. The deep rich colors are what draws my attention and if that was not enough, you photographed a pristine reflection, what a wonderful post.
