This is a lovely dedication to Sandra and her swan boy. I did not even know he had disappeared, but perhaps he just flew off to find a new mate. I am sure Sandra will love this photo, and also I think it is fantastic. I like so much the dark blue colors of the water in the background, and this swan is standing out from it in the most excellent way.

This swan has a really lovely pose, and your photo is nice and sharp showing clear and well defined details both in the feathers and the face, and especially the bright and shiny eye is captured well. I also think the exposure is perfect.

The cropping is neatly done, and the swan nicely placed within the frame. This of course makes for a good composition. This is really a well taken and well balanced photo Eileen, and with an excellent DOFF. Sandra has been a good teacher.

You honor me with this incredible review Annie. Sandra did love it, almost as much as I love her :) And you are right, she is the best teacher. And thanks for all you do for her. She just adores you :)

You are more than welcome. It is easy to be kind to Sandra, because she is such a kind person herself. I know all the things she has done for people on this site, and I know they appreciate it.

Excellent close up of this beautiful swan and how sad to read your notes. I just hope he finds another mate and is happy. I like the angle you caught here and the dark background really makes him stand out well. Lighting and focus very good. Very nice composition. Suzanne

You were indeed lucky..And he may show up with a new mate for you to meet! This has nice shading and color. You have managed to capture a bit of sadness in this magnificent bird. Donkeyoatey

This is lovely! Your handling of the white and the catch light in his eye make me smile with pride! You are such a great student. You have listened and learned how to shoot white birds! The clarity and details are superb. He was in my life for almost 3 years. I watched him loose all his babies from eggs that never hatched twice and then he lost his mate. I hope he flew off to find a new girl. Sigh..
The pose and clarity are SWANDERFUL! THANK YOU for the kind words. I want this shot Shadow girl. It is beautiful and you are a doll for posting this for me.
Thank you!
Well done my shadow girl!

Like Sange, you've done a great job on white exposure here with the swan's fine details evident. Contrasts well with the dark blue background and I like the graceful curved neck position. Has great lighting and added color interest from the beak. Very nice shot, well done!

Beautiful shot, but sad for you both to know how his story has ended. All that can be hoped is that it is happy and the care Sange gave paid off in the end.

The focus is extremely sharp. The colors are vivid and bold. The contrasts throughout are great. Lighting is very good as to have not caused glare on the water.
