You begin to WOW me every time now, this shot is handsome again, this green fence in the background normally would disturb but you just took it shifting it into a perfect part into your image that would let an empty space when missing - a super composition, a great close up shot with the perfect focus, pin sharp , a nice head position of the bird showing us his decorative design and all that on just a portrait picture - your lighting is fantastic, amazing in all senses...

thanks so much Regina. This was a very dark place with no light and I had to hand hold. Thanks again!

Looks like a juvenile red shoulder hawk. What fine clarity on the eye and beak. Really sharp focus!
Great close up and pose!
You did a fine job Shadow girl!

not bad for handholding a slow speed due to darkness. Thanks Miss S!

A truly good story behind this. I love this Hawk and the detail you gave. I volunteer at a Wildlife Center here. Great detail and background. I know how hard it is to hide the wires and cages. Thanks for sharing!

A beautiful photo of this bird of prey Eileen. Thank God we have sanctuaries to look after them. They are so precious and beautiful, your techs are excellent;)

I agree with your notes on our wonderful birds. A good profile, focus and frame with a good exposure to show the beautiful details of this pretty one. Very well done.

Vibrant, Vivid colors, sharpnness. He is holding his head high as if he knows you are there and he is posing for you. What a great shot.

The photography is excellent and all looks technically correct. I like the way the background fence creates a type of bokeh effect.
The only thing I would try is lightening up the bird slightly. I think lightening it a bit will make it pop out a bit more. You would need to try it and see how they compare. The darker one might still look better to you.
Often it can also depend on the screen on which I am viewing something. Sometimes pictures which look dark on one screen can look OK on a different one.

Superb focus and excellent angle, displaying the prominence of textures and natural colors of the bird. I love the way, you've captured the eyes and the beak. Excellent presentation and framing.
