wow!!! this stopped me in my tracks, I just HAD to make a comment! his eyes are so intense, so full of soul, every feather is so definite and precise. this is truly a great piece, you must be so proud, well done and thanks so much for sharing

I love owls too! I get to see Burrowing owls often and they are 9 inches tall but have the coolest yellow and black eyes.
Superb feather details and great color on those hypnotizing eyes Suzanne.

I like owls for a number of reasons,not the least of which is their ancient association with Occult matters,and I'm really enjoying your fine close up portrait of this one!

Let me just add my praise to the long list you've already received. My first thought was, "The Eyes have it!" I also like the symmetry of the whole picture with the eyebrows(?) leading up to the top edge and the beak pointing down. Super job. Cheers, James

It is a joy to review this one. Before opening it up I thought it was a photograph. Quite wonderful actually. I always judge wildlife photos by the focus and intensity of the eyes. Bingo! You grabbed my attention and nailed it! Thanks!

Did I mention in the last review something about the eyes being the windows of the soul?
This is a very arresting piece of art, perfectly cropped, up close and personal with inclusion of that killer beak.
The details of feathers again show us a confident artist who "knows her onions". You've included a vast tonal range from black to white...and splashed some warmth into the feathers as well. The colour of eyes against the monochromatic feathering is startling and catches us and gives us pause as we peer and I'm trying to see what it is he sees and I can see trees...hes' in a forest!
This is very warm, strong and fine piece to get tangled up in to review!
