What I see as so special about the image is the bg. I love how it blends fromm gold to grey complementing the colors in the turkey. Now I admit I have never seen a turkey this color. Is this a Scandinavian turkey? The expression you captured on the birds face is also special. It looks like he's complaining about having another stupid thanksgiving. Nice combination of reality and irony. The off-center presentation is great and also conveys a sense of being off beat. Nicely done.

Thank you so very much for the lovely review and also for the generous rating. This is not a Scandinavian Turkey at all. The photo was taken in Greece.

Super initial impact - you have chosen a Turkey that looks like a hippie covering his face up by ( non existing Hair) - his colors are stunning and of course the original photograph is perfect in focus exposure, contrast and lighting - your composition of the beautiful Thanksgiving card is handsome, has very warm energy and with the golden color tones and shapes as background you honor the Turkey integrating forgiveness as yes he does not look so beautiful at the first look but looking longer al his beauty becomes visible - super lighting, super decoration as frame - a very harmonious and beautiful work, thanks for the good wishes too, they are a blessing

I missed that! That's almost as bad as skate boarding to greet the Japaneese dignitary!

Love Mr. Popcorn. The text is perfect - haven't seen one like that before.

The frame and corner add. I had never thought of putting a curly in one corner only.

Thanks for the laugh.

Lol, I saw Popcorn on the news as well. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Your portrait of the turkey is great. Nice profile. Great textures and colors of the skin. Good clarity and very nice lighting. Humorous. :)

Great Treatment all around of Popcorn. The entire "pardon" of a Turkey actually goes all the way back to President Lincoln when his son Tad asked his father to not kill a pet turkey named Jack 1863. Jack used to follow young Tad around and was a playmate.

The whole Turkey Pardon thing became a formal event by the first President George Bush 1989.

I do have one slight problem with your post. Here in the US the use of President Obama's last name only, bugs me. Like him or not, he has earned the title of President Obama. Sadly, too many people on the Right Wing have taken to calling him my just his last name. Like him or not, he is the President of United States, and and should be respected and Called President Obama (rant over! lol)

I would suspect that most Norwedgian's refer to Harald V as King Harald, but maybe they just call him Harald? :)

Thank you so very much for the lovely review Steve. I am sorry I forgot the title, and I can assure it has nothing to do with disrespect. Believe it or not, but King Harald is very often called just Harald, and our Priministers very often just mentioned by using their first names.

We do not have Thanksgiving in the UK. Although I worked for an American bank for years in London, I still cannot remember what the day is about! This turkey is very ugly I have to say but he makes me smile at the same time. I particularly like your background treatment in colours which I find most appealing and which certainly compliment the colours and textures in the bird.
