This is really beautiful, great clarity, framed nicely - I would be tempted to boost the contrast a bit more so it is less grayscale and more black and white but overall, I really like it - well done!

Wow! That your notes are very interesting and I must say that the migrants have a lot of courage. Lovely composition, although I would have cropped from the top a bit more to get rid of the landfall in the top right corner, nice focus giving nice detail in the glass boats and nice depth. Great camera work.

a really different kind of statement and a unique way of expressing art,,,unique also is the talent of the photographer choosing such an uncommon subject i think the subject is about freedom and that in itself can take on a host of meanings,,,,very nice capture and thanks for the sharing,,,

Thanks so much, the boats were originally designed with oragami folds in mind and made up from letters received or sent by migrants to Australia.

Hi Doris, they are actually clear glass with the words etched on them which are from letters both written and received from home by migrants who stayed at the Hostel. The idea apparently came from oragami - some of the residents of the hostel used to fold their letters up and float them on the river - hence the glass boat idea. :) Mary

Your picture is very beautiful! I love the black and white and the contrast. I also love the composition. I would have thought the boats were small but judging by the little bird in the water they must be big. Very nice!

Thanks so much, they are a reasonable size but quite small if compared to the paddle boats that you get out on the river. :) Mary
