Hello Again

I am not strong on black and white images. Not your fault but rather my weakness. I don't know what is good and not so good in this medium.

In this one I like the Head and upper shoulder but I cannot see detail on the tail end of the bird. Both the top and the underside of the bird have missing detail. Not sure of the cause.

I hope in the end you did not shoot and eat this bird. He does seem like a good guy.

Thanks for sharing him with me.

Roger

Thank you so very much! It looks a lot better in color. The b&w conversion caused the detail loss!

Hi Willie,

Most of the time I prefer to see shots in color, but I have to say you did an impressive job with this B&W.
This B&W osprey jumps off the page. Love the lighting and DOF!

SUper Cool Job!
Good Luck in the Contest!

What an amazing bird you have captured there - we have osprey in Australia but have never been fortunate enough to see one. The black and white really brings out the beauty of the bird.

Again you have picked out a fine entry for a contest, and I think this is a photo looking very good in BW. Perhaps the sky could have been a bit brighter, but the bird is standing out from it in an excellent way. The bird holding on to a fish adds interest to this photo.

The photo is this lovely bird is nice and sharp showing clear and well defined details in the feathers, and the bright eye is indeed well captured. I also think the exposure is good even if the white parts of the bird are very close to over exposure.

The cropping is fine and the bird has got a good placement within the frame. I think this is an all together well taken photo with a very good DOFF, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Thank you so very much! The sky is very dark blue without any clouds. If I lighten it the bird looses the impact.
Start saving your member dollars. I am going to start creating more contests. I have about twenty ideas some is a repeat from before. I know you like to enter and create some very good work and provides some stiff competition. Do you have any ideas for contests?

You are more than welcome. It is good to hear that some new contests are coming up. It has been a little low lately. I usually have a long list, and now it is only one I need an entry for. Not too many birds, please. LOL

I think I can find some you will like and may be able to win! Most of the time I expect you to win so if I beat you I feel as if I really did something!

LOL - I think this goes both ways. I know what you mean. It is some members it feels better to beat than others.

Thank you so very much! I am sure if he was to bite you that you would not question the power in his beak! LOL!
