Nice timely capture of this duck with the feather in his mouth. Do you think it was building a nest, or just left oer from grooming? The focus is a bit soft on this shot, and if it were my shot I would have cropped it to leave the space in the front instead of behind. Just one of those silly rules about leaving boats, runners, birds, cars, etc. space to move :)

Thanks so much, there were a family of these ducks playing and think they lost the feathers in play. There was also a concrete wall directly in front of the duck where the others were siting on top this one looked as though couldn't quite work out how to get over the wall.

Yep, caught a feather alright. Interesting duck and a species I've never seen before. A nice sharp image of it and a good reflection in the water. Judging from the other feathers this duck has been doing a little preening. Good photo in a very natural setting.

Mary,
A beautiful picture of the duck with it,s coffee & white checkered breast plumage standing in a sunbeam lighting up the water in threat of the reeds reflections of the reeds, the duck & glimpses of the blue sky above seen on the water's surface. Beautiful composition & lighting with superb camera techniques with sharp focus.

What a cute view on this little one. Colorful, focus and framed to show a nice reflection and a few extra feathers. Good one.

A beautiful, refreshing sight of the wonders of nature. This is surely "my cup of tea." Impressive natural colors. High five on lighitng/exposure and technical excellence. Love those green grass blades, the bright eyed birdie, the pond and the reflection. Well captured.

Great capture of the duck with the feather still in its mouth. Great clarity in the grasses, good reflection in the water, but I find the ducks body little out of focus. Could be due to the water reflecting on the body.

This is gorgeous...showing this duck with the water plants as background is really great. The reflection in the water and the ripples that extend outward from the duck add interest and depth to the image. Wonderful markings on that duck...and its feather trophy is so good.
