Very Nice capture mary. You have nice eye clarity and details on the feathers. There is a bit of blow out on the "Eyebrow" and downy on top of bill. Setting white balance manually and standing more to the right would have avoided this.
A wee more space was needed on the right as well. But it still is a great capture of this Curlew which is not often seen here on far.

What a marvelous huge eye. Great lighting makes the subject really stand out from the background. I like the subdued natural palette and the crisply rendered details, especially that eye.

Very interesting artist notes. They add a lot to your photo. Picture is well composed, with good exposre and focus. Nice use of existing light on his head and neck area. Good picture and informative notes.
