Great capture of this beautiful lioness - she looks so sad. I agree with you, I don't like to see any animals enclosed in a stark environment. I like the angle you used for this with the light just catching on some of her.

Wow! Mary she is stunning and what a great capture of her. I must agree with you that they should not be in enclosures at all but free. Great composition, superb handling of the light and shadow, excellent focus giving fine detail in her face and fur, great natural colours and depth. There does seem to be a hint of the mesh at the top and across her snout but you handled this well. Great camera work well done.

You should be more than "was reasonably happy to get this "A wonderful portrait of this lion. Your play with light in this photo is super. Excellent texture and almost sheen to his coat. The stance of the animal is most effective - she seems pensive and oblivious to the photographer. Excellent composition and framing.

Beautiful animal with great capture of the hairs in its ears, the whiskers. Nice light reflections. He appears soft. Great lighting, color. technical 5 nice sharp image. technique 5 like the composition, depth of field and contrasts.
