impact 5 color 5 light 5 sharp f ocus - technical 5, like the depth of field, contrasts and composition. Nice with the water ripples and foreground gritty soil. As far as the duck- great color, like the light reflection on eye and beak, nice detail in feathers but he does not seem to be happy that you are this close.

Quite an unusual pose for a duck. This one is a typical male -having himself a comfortable rest in a sunny spot. Nature was very kind to the male mallards with their luminous blue green iridescent head and neck. And their compelling yellow beaks. Not so kind with the plainer lady mallards.

This needs something, the colors are too bright, maybe some highlight taken out and some shadows but in. the focus is good and clear.

A "Makes you smile" picture. Timing of the shutter was pretty good to catch the duck appearing to smile, not only that he seems to be looking at you too. You've got the light very well too as the colours are quite vivid. The texture of the birds feathers really show, add to that the nice colour flecked water as a background and you have a really nice image.
Positioning of the bird is really good as well.
