Exotic. Love the illuminating light, that give more prominence to the curvy stamens of the bloom. Framing is a bit too tight from the top and some petals were not visible anymore, but overall, I like the dark setting, and I think you can still capture the whole blooms inspite of the nighttime setting. Yes, that dark background will even make your image really stands out. Giving this a five for creativity, too.

Thank you for your kind review and your input. I will have a look at the framing. What is captured is the whole bloom. All petals are visible. What fades into the dark of the night above is a segment of the cactus. The parts on the sides and below a sepals. Both are not very attractive. [Maybe my screen needs adjustment. I will check into it]

I love to take pictures at night, and use the focus setting. I've learned it from you tube, and it is really beautiful, because of the dark background, all the mess were kept. I did not use flash light, but it illuminates by itself. Oh, sometimes, the upload in FAR is really bad, that it looks different in other screen. You did well, using the flashlights, though and have an exotic subject.

Due to the nature of the tropical jungle is too dark without artificial light. You need a Machete to go to the interesting places and better you hack the way the day just before the assumed blooming, otherwise its ovregrown again.

Oh, dear. This is a great job already. Don't work that hard, okay. I've heard about this Queen of the Night when I was a child, so it sounds familiar, but I haven't seen the blooms, maybe just the long blades. God bless and take care.

The are rare in captivity, but I think there are several around in Botanical Gardens. I would have to search who has one.
Those are not blades, it looks more like a uneven cable with spikes about like a Sharpie pen in diameter.
God bless, have a nice day.

Beautiful cactus emerging from the darkness. Good clarity and color. Nice framing with good visual impact.

It must be pollinated by moths if it never sees the light of day. I like the painted light effect with the dimly recorded edges of the flower. Very nice colors. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you very much for your review and your wishes!
The flowers are pollinated by Sphinx Moth or Bads.

Magic view of a flowers heart. Exposure provides a poetic approach. The picture brings us back to the era of the rennaissence or the great Flanders painters like Van Eyck or Bruegel

Thank you for your kind review. The cactus blooms only at night time. The picture was taken at 10:35 pm
