Fred,
The Shield Bug is beautiful camouflaged with the seeds that surround it almost matching the patterns on it's wing cases though the colours do not match. Artistic composition & framing with superb camera techniques with razor sharp focus.

We have stink bugs in Alice Springs but they are totally black so this one is very different. The ones we have when you tread on them they omit an disgusting odour which when they were in plague proportions a few years ago made for an unpleasant time.

Nice capture of this one with good focus and composition.

excellent quality photo. Great details and excellent angle here!! wonderful view of the unique beetle and seeds. This one is a "Potato Beetle" and females can produce 20-40 yellow eggs under the leaves of the host plant.

Ha! This is no beetle Fred! This is a Stink bug! Also called a Shield bug! They have a foul odor much like rotten almond or coriander.
Excellent close up of this wee stinker! Great color and fine sharp focus.
Great find! =)

They come in different colors..most think they are just brown. But you have the colorful kind here. They are very cool looking up close.
You did a fab job. 😀👍

Me either Fred but its a nice macro image of this red beetle with the black stripes. Very sharp focus and the seeds are so unusual. Nice find and a good photo for sure.

At first glance, I thought I was looking at some form of caramel candy. That is indeed an interesting looking beetle. Lovely b/g and great detail on the beetle. Very nice photo!
